A demonstration of Ayurvedic Rejuvenation is the topic of the Herb Society’s meeting on March 18.
Presented by Lauren Cook, the talk, “Rasayana: Ayurvedic Rejuvenation using simple kitchen ingredients,” will take place at EmilyAnn Theater and Gardens at 10 a.m. Cook is the owner of Sutra Sangha and an Ayurvedic practitioner and Ayur doula.
Ayurvedic is a holistic form of medicine using herbs, nutrition and lifestyle to bring the body into balance. Cook will discuss basic ingredients used in everyday cooking that have anti-aging, cell restoration and hormonal balance properties. There will also be a brief presentation on the March herb of the month, yarrow.
Visitors are welcome to attend the gathering in the meeting space of EmilyAnn Theater and Gardens, 1101 FM-2325, Wimberley. Herbal treats and social time begin at 9:30 a.m. and the program starts at 10:00 a.m. To attend, please RSVP [email protected].
Each month, The Hill Country Unit features guest speakers, educational programs, or hands-on activities to promote the use of herbs for health, cooking, or home care. To learn more, visit HillCountryHerbSociety.org.
