The rescheduled performance of “An Evening of Danged Ole Train Songs” by Mike Bond & the Nine-Pound Hammers will take place March 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wimberley Playhouse, 450 Old Kyle Rd.
Joined by his wife Louie, his daughters and a whole crew of pickin’ buddies, Mike will present a wide-ranging collection of music, from swinging boogie and old folk and bluegrass tunes to jazzy standards. The concert will feature fiddles, banjos, mandolins, guitars and harmonicas.
According to Bond, “An Evening of Danged Ole Train Songs” has been a dream of his for several years. As the leader of the Wimberley Jam and a longtime lover of string music, Bond noticed just how many great songs have been written about railroads and trains. He decided “it was time to bring them together in one lively performance.”
The evening of fun, music and community is suitable for audiences of all ages. Tickets are $20, plus $3.00 fee for online sales, and available at wimberleyplayers.org. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
