Mothering Earth’s Water Wise community education classes, hosted by Salwa Khan, will begin its 2026 series with a talk by Andrew Weber, President of the Trinity Edwards Springs Protection Association.
Weber will talk about the Aqua Texas Legal Battle and Rainwater Harvesting, 10 a.m. to Noon, Wimberley VFW Post #6441 Hall, 401 Jacob’s Well Road.
Aqua Texas, which supplies water and sewer service to Woodcreek residents is involved in ongoing litigation on their proposed water and waste water rate increase, their over-pumping, as well as their federal lawsuit against the Hays-Trinity Groundwater Conservation District.
The Trinity Edwards Springs Protection Association is a major part of the legal fight against Aqua Texas. TESPA President Andrew Weber will provide an update on the legal cases, including information about over pumping, to Woodcreek and Woodcreek North residents. Weber will also discuss ways for residents to conserve and reuse water.
To support Woodcreek residents’ efforts to be water wise, TESPA will be giving away ten rainwater harvesting barrels and 10 shower control valves. Must be present to win. Attendees will be able to ask questions of the speaker.
Water Wise is endorsed by the City of Woodcreek and the City of Wimberley, by the Hays County Master Naturalists and the Wimberley Village Library.
