The Starlight Symphony Orchestra will present its 2026 Young Artist Concert Series on March 7, 7 p.m. at Huston Tillotson University in Austin and March 8, 4 p.m. at Wimberley First Baptist Church. Winners of the SSO’s Annual Young Artist Competition will showcase their talents.
Jenny Thomas, on violin, will perform Violin Concerto Opus 14, by Samuel Barber. Jenny is 17 years old and attends McNeil High School.
Ellie Washecka, on viola, will perform the William Walton Viola Concerto. Ellie is 15 and a sophomore at McNeil High School.
Samantha Homsy, on Cello, will perform “Concerto for Cello” by C. Saint Saens. Samantha is a Sophomore at James Bowie High School.
The SSO concerts will also feature Mozart’s Don Giovanni Overtures and Borodin’s Polovetsian Dances from “Prince Igor.” The concerts are free, and donations are always appreciated.
