Parks and Rec Calendar - March

March 7 and 8

Creekside Campout, 3 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday at Blue Hole. $30 per campsite. Register at wimberleyparksandrec.com. Inquiries at 512 660-9111. Campfire, stargazing, a guided night hike and other activities.

March 13, 27

Owl Prowl, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Blue Hole. $10 per person; kids 10 and under are free. Register at wimberleyparksandrec.com. Trek across Blue Hole park in search of owls and practice owl call, dissect an owl pellet and explore the park at night. All ages welcome.

March 14

Community Workout, 9 a.m. to noon, hosted by Red Oak Strength and Joy Lab Fit Co., at Oak Park, 109 Oak Dr. Open to all ages and fitness levels, the workout is free.

Guided Hike, 9 to 10 a.m., at Blue Hole. Free. Easy to moderate hike with a theme – from riparian systems, to learning about trees, to covering the history of our parks – that are ADA accessible and suitable for all ages. Check wimberleyparksandrec.com for themes and meeting locations.

March 16 to 20

Spring Break Camp, 8:30 to 3 p.m., for ages 6 to 12. Cost is $200. Register at wimberleyparksandrec.com. Spots are limited. Outdoor adventures, nature exploration, games and hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and memories.

March 22

Painting with Parks plein air painting, 9 a.m. to noon at Blue Hole. Cost is $15. Bring your own supplies. For ages 10 and up. Register at wimberleyparksandrec.com. Inquiries at 512 660-9111. Class gives painters exclusive access to park locations.

March 21, 31

Adult Sand Volleyball, 5 to 8 p.m., at Blue Hole. $20 per person or $105 per team. Register at wimberleyparksandrec.com. Inquiries at 512 660-9111. Six person teams register for the six-week league. For ages 18 and up.
