Chapel in the Hills is welcoming a new pastor, Rev. Dr. Michael Massar, March 2.
A West Texas native raised in Midland and Odessa, Massar attended Baylor University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Mansfield College of Oxford University, and the Graduate Theological Foundation of Notre Dame where he completed a Doctor of Ministries degree in ecumenical studies. He also completed sabbatical study at the University of California’s School of Cinematic Arts that focused on the art of narrative storytelling.
Massar has served churches in Waco, Houston, Clemson, Tyler, Sugar Land, Baton Rouge and San Antonio. He met his wife, Lisa, an early childhood specialist, while he studied at Baylor. They have three grown children and six grandchildren.
