Death Trap, the twisty dark comedy by Ira Levin opens on the Wimberley Players stage at 7:30 p.m. at the Wimberley playhouse, 450 Old Kyle Rd. Tickets are $30

The Hill Country Community Band presents “Gypsy Dances,” 4 p.m. at the Wimberley First Baptist Church, 15951 Winters Mill Parkway. Musical selections include ”Waltz No. 2,” by Dmitri Shostakovich, “Trittico,” by Vaclav Nelhybel, four gypsy dances “Puszta” by Jan Van der Roost, and works by Kalinnikov and Halvorsenn. Directed by Dr. Manuel Arambula, the concert is free to attend and family-friendly.

February 23 and 24

The Wimberley Players auditions for the upcoming production of “The Outsider,” a sharp, timely political comedy that skewers modern campaigns while celebrating the messy heart of democracy from 7 to 10 p.m. by appointment only, at The Wimberley Players, 450 Old Kyle Road, Wimberley, TX 78676. Stars Over Wimberley will present the Third Annual Winter Nights Singer-Songwriter Showcase, Kelley Mickwee, Josh Grider, Walt Wilkins, Susan Gibson and Drew Kennedy and Friends. Tickets went on sale 9 a.m., January 14.
