2026 UIL Realignment has once again shuffled up the districts as the Texans learned about their new district bunkmates.
In football, the Texans will move over from District 13 into District 14 where Wimberley will be reunited with new rival Lago Vista.
Joining both Wimberley and Lago Vista will be Austin Achieve, Austin Eastside, Giddings and Manor New Tech.
The Texans were previously aligned with Lago Vista, Austin Achieve and Manor New Tech during the 2022 UIL Realignment Cycle. Both Achieve, Eastside and New Tech are dropping down from 4A Division I while Giddings moves over from District 11.
Another new addition to this year’s realignment is District 13 being composed of Brownwood, Gatesville, Robinson, Salado, Waco Connally and Waco La Vega, which will be paired with District 14 in the Bi-District round of the playoffs.
For the Texans basketball and volleyball programs, Wimberley will move over from District 26 into District 27 but will retain their traditional district bunkmates in Bandera, Canyon Lake, Davenport and Fredericksburg. This year’s new addition will be Kerrville Tivy who is dropping down from Class 5A. The Antlers will replace the New Braunfels Long Creek Dragons who are going up to Class 5A.
