The Lady Texans wrapped up non-district play this week with a 3-0 shutout over the Leander Lions.
Wimberley improves to 8-1-1 overall while Leander falls to 6-3-1.
The Lady Texans struck early, scoring two goals in the first half to take the lead before adding a third goal in the second half to secure the win.
Following last season’s historic run to the state title game, the Lady Texans have continued to play at a high level, beating several soccer programs much bigger than Wimerley.
The Lady Texans enter district play looking for their second consecutive district title but will face stiff competition.
Archrival Canyon Lake boasts the best non-district record at 9-0 along with the high scoring offense with 56 total goals for the season.
Marble Falls will also look to be in district title contention with a 8-0-2 overall record, having scored 44 total goals and allowing just three total goals.
Davenport will also look to be in the mix with a 8-1 overall record, scoring 37 total goals and allowing just two goals all season.
District play for the Lady Texans starts Tuesday against Marble Falls on the road before returning home Friday against Davenport. Both games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
