Wimberley Texans show off their awards at the District meet in San Antonio.
The Wimberley Texans made school history this week as the girls made their mark as District 14-4A team champions, and the boys were runners-up at the district championship meet in San Antonio. Eleven Texan swimmers will advance to the 4A Region IV Championship meet this week, competing in San Antonio on Friday and Saturday for a berth in the State meet. Congratulations to Coach Jill Johnson who was honored as the Girl’s District Coach of the Meet.
The following WHS swimmers qualified for Regionals by finishing in the top four in their respective events:
Jeremiah Bales-sophomore: 200 yd medley relay-2nd, 50 yd freestyle-2nd, 100 yd butterfly-2nd, 400 yd freestyle relay-2nd
Brooklyn Bursiel-senior: 200 yd medley relay-1st, 500 freestyle-3rd, 100 yd backstroke-2nd, 400 yd freestyle relay-1st
Gracie Colyer-junior: 200 yd medley relay-1st, 200 yd freestyle-1st, 100 yd butterfly-1st, 400 yd freestyle relay-1st
Michael Donovan-junior: 200 yd medley relay-2nd, 200 yd freestyle-1st, 100 yd breaststroke-2nd, 400 yd freestyle relay-2nd
Ellie Jennings-junior: 200 yd freestyle-2nd, 200 yd freestyle relay-3rd
Rayder Pack-senior: 200 yd medley relay-2nd, 400 yd freestyle relay-2nd
Addy Paluch-freshman: 100 yd freestyle-4th, 200 yd freestyle relay-3rd
Zorah Schwalb-Stang-senior: 200 yd medley relay-1st, 500 yd freestyle-2nd, 100 yd backstroke-3rd, 400 yd freestyle relay-2nd
