The Lady Texans wrapped up the first round of district play this week and have set themselves up to claim playoff spot and a high seed in the 4A Division II playoffs with a win over the Bandera Bulldogs last Tuesday.
Wimberley improves their record to 12-16 and 3-2 in district play.
On Tuesday, the Lady Texans battled the Bandera Bulldogs in a critical district game with the winner gaining the advantage of the playoff seeding race.
In a thrilling game, Wimberley defeated Bandera 58-55.
The Lady Texans wrapped up their week at home against the Fredericksburg Battlin’ Billies with the Billies winning 57-23.
With the first round of district play at an end, the Lady Texans are tied for second place in the district standings with Davenport. Wimberley has averaged 48.4 points per game on offense while defensively holding district opponents to just 46.6 points per game.
The Lady Texans will look to finish the second half of district play strong and seal a postseason berth as Wimberley goes on the road Tuesday to New Braunfels Long Creek before hosting Davenport on Friday. Both games start at 6:30 p.m.
