January 29

City of Wimberley’s One Water Town Hall and Showcase, 4 to 7 p.m., Wimberley Community Center, Johnson Hall. Important meeting for citizens, business owners and community stakeholders to review the final draft of the Resilient Communities Program Comprehensive Plan Update and the One Water Study — two coordinated planning efforts focused on protecting Wimberley’s character, resources and future. See key recommendations, maps and share feedback directly with the project team. Your input will help guide final policies and implementation strategies that protect Wimberley’s water resources and community values for generations to come.

Hays County Film Advisory Board is holding a location workshop, to promote film-ready locations in Hays County, noon to 5 p.m. at the Hays County Election Building Conference Center, 120 Stagecoach Trail in San Marcos. The cost is $60 to attend. Tickets are available at https://filmhaystx.org/location-conference. Lunch will be provided, followed by a Film Friendly City sessions in which representatives from Buda, Dripping Springs, Kyle, San Marcos and Wimberley will outline their policies, applications and procedures for acquiring film permits; location scouts and managers will talk about their roles, and the Austin and Texas Film Commissions will introduce the “Location Hub.”

The Lions Community Forum presents Wimberley Director of Tourism Michele Woods speaking on the topic of “Wimberley Tourism: Promote and Protect,” 6 p.m. at the Community Center, 14068 RR12. Free to attend.

First Tuesday SMTX Film Series presents “Swamp Dogg Gets his Pool Painted” music documentary, 7 p.m., at the Price Center, 222 W. San Antonio St. in San Marcos. Tickets are $9 and available at firsttuesdaysmtx.com. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., complementary pizza and drinks served from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
