TxDOT has begun the construction on three traffic signals to be placed at RR 12 and Old Kyle Rd. Westbound travelers on Old Kyle Rd. will now face traffic signals, as will east- and westbound drivers on RR 12. Plainly speaking, two signal poles will be located in front of The Cedar Chest and Monster Treats on RR 12 and the third signal will be sited on the island in front of Wall Street Western, Wall Street Western Too, Shelter and Ceremony Botanical.
Construction will take place at night, beginning at 8 p.m. and finishing by 6 a.m.
TxDOT says citizens can expect minimal traffic delays, with occasional nighttime flagging. Sidewalks will remain open when possible and any closures will be clearly marked with alternate crossings indicated nearby.
TxDOT estimates that the construction will be completed in the Spring, depending on weather conditions and utility coordination. The signals will not be active immediately upon the completion of the construction.
