Does your little piece of heaven deserve to be on the big screen? The Hays County Film Advisory Board is holding a location workshop, January 29, to promote film-ready locations in Hays County.
Called “Lights! Camera! Community!” the workshop will include three panels and take place from noon to 5 p.m. at the Hays County Election Building Conference Center, 120 Stagecoach Trail in San Marcos.
Lunch will be provided at the beginning of the workshop followed by a Film Friendly City session in which representatives from Buda, Dripping Springs, Kyle, San Marcos and Wimberley will outline their policies, applications and procedures for acquiring film permits.
In a second session, location scouts and managers will talk about their role in film production and what they look for when evaluating government, commercial and residential properties as potential filming locations.
In a final session, both the Austin Film Commission and the Texas Film Commission will introduce the “Location Hub” and explain how property owners can register their commercial or residential property to be considered for film productions.
The workshop will close with a happy hour where attendees can network with speakers.
The cost is $60 to attend. Tickets are available at https://filmhaystx.org/location-conference.
