The Texans opened up district play with another dominating win, defeating rival Canyon Lake 62-31 on the road.
Wimberley improves to 24-2 overall and 1-0 in district play while Canyon Lake falls to 0-1 in district play and 13-12 overall.
Senior Paul Gumbert-Mendoza led the team in scoring with 18 points followed by junior Nathan Baker with 11 points. Senior Holden Crawford was third in scoring with 10 points.
Senior Micah Birdsong was first in rebounds with nine while junior Reece Wortham was first in assists with six.
The Texans started the week at home, defeating the Gonzales Apaches 84-35.
Crawford led the team in scoring with a game-high 24 points followed by Gumbert-Mendoza with 19 points. Baker was third in scoring with 14 points followed by Wortham with 12 points.
Gumbert-Mendoza led the team in rebounds with 10 to complete the double-double along with six assists. Crawford also had six assists for the Texans.
Wimberley returns home Tuesday against Bandera before going on the road Friday against Fredericksburg. Both games start at 6:30 p.m.
