The Wimberley Community Civic Club announced that 2026 scholarship applications for graduating seniors opens January 15. The application is open to any graduating senior from Wimberley area schools including home schools. Applications can be picked up from high school guidance counselors and completed applications are due March 12. Scholarship applications are considered whether a student wishes to attend a traditional university or a qualified nontraditional institution of higher learning, such as a culinary or art institute or a trade school. Funding for the scholarships comes from businesses, individuals and events throughout the year. “We raise funds for scholarships and grants each year through many events that the community really enjoys including Spring Events from January to May, Wimberley Home Tour, and Style Show, and during the holidays, Breakfast with Santa,” said Scholarship Committee Chair Christine Walker. Last year, the Civic Club awarded scholarships to 14 deserving students and granted $48,000 in grants to many local non-profits.
