TxDOT announced to the City of Wimberley today that it will begin construction on a new traffic signal at RR 12 and Old Kyle Road, starting Sunday, January 18.
Most of the work will take place overnight beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday night until 6 a.m. the following morning. Estimated completion of the project is sometime in the Spring, say TxDOT officials, depending on weather conditions and coordination with utilities. “January 18 is the beginning of construction only. The signal will not be active immediately.”
Expect minimal traffic delays, with occasional nighttime flagging. Sidewalks will remain open when possible; any closures will be clearly marked with alternate crossings nearby.
