In a ceremony last week to install a unique legacy donor board, members of Wimberley Village Library Foundation, donors, and key staff members, met with artist Joshua Farrell in the library’s expansive front area.
On hand for the unveiling were Library Director Carolyn Manning and Library Foundation members, President Carrie Campbell, Vice President Tonda Frady, Treasurer Dennis Lee, Secretary Kevin Hammond, and board members Aileen Edgington and Dell Hood.
Together, artist Joshua Farrell and Director of Marketing and Adult Programs Nomi Gonzalez revealed Farrell’s multimedia board. Installed over the fireplace, the board depicted the sun setting behind the boulder-lined waters of Cypress Creek’s Blue Hole. The board’s “boulders” are removable so that donor names can be engraved on them.
Engraved on the board were the names of three legacy donors: Ron and the late La-Nell Taylor, Dell and Gerin Hood and Tonda Frady. Ron Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Hood and Ms. Frady attended the installation and posed for photographs.
Donors can make lasting impacts to library facilities and services like these through long term contributions to the Legacy Gift club, through bequests, through memorial gifts that honor another person and through an IRA Direct Transfer.
