Tax statements to be mailed by end of November

Hays County tax statements will be delayed this year due to measures included on the November 4 ballot.

According to the Hays County website, the official tax rate could not be finalized until all election results were certified due to state propositions 11 and 13 and the Hays CISD Voter Approval Tax Rate Election.

Hays County Tax Assessor-Collector Jennifer Escobar stated in a Facebook post that tax statements will now be mailed out by the end of November.

“We know many of you are waiting for your 2025 property tax statements. Our office chose to delay their release due to several propositions on the November 4 ballot — including Hays CISD’s proposed tax rate increase, which did not pass,” Escobar stated. “We’re now waiting for Hays CISD to canvass its election results and officially adopt a tax rate on November 17.”

The county website states that the official 2025 tax rate bills will be made available online at hayscountytx. gov/tax-assessor- collector after they are generated.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure your tax information is accurate and up to date,” Escobar stated.
