The Nu chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, recently awarded fourth grade teacher Kathryn Sparkman with an Amazon gift card to buy items for her classroom. Sparkman is a fourth grade teacher at Jacob’s Well elementary in Wimberley. Nu Chapter President, Loretta Eiben and Eula Lee Carter Memorial Fund chair, Sandra Morales made the presentation along with Nu member Robin Estepp. Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, is an international professional honor society for women educators, founded in 1929 to promote excellence in education and the professional and personal growth of women in the field. The society offers scholarships and grants, fosters leadership development and supports various educational and philanthropic initiatives. It’s name, a Greek phrase, translates to “teachers key women.”
