Memorable Spots
I love hearing about people’s memorable spots, such as the bench they were sitting on when they got engaged, or the secret spot they found to watch the sunrise over the ocean. Some people’s memorable spots are closer to home. They are so excited to remember the exact spot they found to watch a family of woodpeckers in their nest. Or the spot in the newspaper where they found the Dog of the Week that they adopted. Everyone seems to have some memorable spots that stay with them forever, or at least as long as they remember them.
I also have mine, but they are slightly different. Mine are mostly on my clothes. I look fondly at the spot on my white shirt from the spaghetti dinner I ate at a cute Italian restaurant on the square. I was with a group of friends celebrating a birthday, and red is my color. I remember that the spot on my new tee shirt came from my sweet dog spitting out the oral medicine I tried to give him. It wasn’t his fault. He didn’t like the taste and I should have given him a few drops at a time instead of half the dropper full. It is memorable because I hope, and so does he, that I don’t make that mistake again. My shirt is a great reminder.
I have memorable hand prints on my sweats where I accidentally wiped my hands on my pants instead of a rag after successfully changing my own tire. I look at my tire and my sweats regularly, just to high five myself, in my head.
I still laugh at the multiple spots on my shirt due to taking the lid off of my mini blender too soon. Lesson learned. How many people get a chuckle from their memorable spots?
We all have memorable spots that fill our hearts. I love it when people share those memorable stories. Mine are very easy to remember. I am lucky to have memorable spots that fill my clothes and they are always with me.
