The Wimberley Texan Varsity Girls Cross Country Team wrapped up its 2025 season with a 12th place finish at the UIL 4A State Championship meet on Saturday in Round Rock.
Sophomore Corina Joyce led the Texans in her second appearance at state. She placed 16th out of the field of 150 runners with a time of 11:49 in the two-mile race. Freshman Avery Wymore placed 75th in 12:35, Freshman Abby Wymore was 105th in 12:58, Junior Kate Sharp was 109th in 13:03, Freshman Adriana Burnette was 126th in 13:20, Senior Ava Arellano was 129th in 13:24, and Senior Whitlee Leonard was 136th in 13:33.
While Wimberley High School runners have qualified individually for the state meet, this season marked the first WHS girls team qualification since 2020 and only the fourth team qualification in school history.
