STATE CHAMPIONS
The Texans hoist up their title after defeating Canyon 10-5 in the finals of the 4A Team Tennis State Championships. This is Wimberley's third state championship in the past five past seasons.

For the third time in the past five seasons, Wimberley is bringing home the state championship. 

After sweeping Franklin 10-0 in the state semifinals, Wimberley defeated Canyon 10-5 to capture the 4A State Championship. It is the Texans first title since 2023 and their third state championship since 2021. 

In the doubles pairing, the Texans boys doubles team won all three of their matches. The team of Marcus Gonzales and Branton Kirchner won their match 2-0 [6-3, 6-4] while Henry Moore and Garner Sheffield also won 2-0 [6-2, 6-4].

The team of Logan Carpenter and Kevin Alvarado won their match in the third set tiebreaker, winning 2-1 [6-3, 4-6, [11-9]]. 

In girls doubles, Lillian Kate Carson and Emma Pierce won their match 2-0 [6-3, 6-2] with the team of Kennedy Carson and Kyndan Gilley also winning at 2-0 [6-1, 6-2]. 

Heading into the singles portion of the match, Wimberley led Canyon 5-2. 

In singles matches, Carson, Gilley and Pierce won their singles matches to put the Texans on the precipice of bringing home the state title. 

Gonzales and Sheffield sealed the deal for the Texans, winning their singles matches to clinch the title at 10-5. 

Despite not winning their matches, Sofia Gutierrez, Avelyn Gilley, Wiley Weeks and Nate Riser all contributed to the Texans winning the championship.
