The Wimberley Lady Texans extended their district unbeaten streak with two more wins, edging Davenport in a five-set thriller before sweeping Fredericksburg to close out their home schedule. The victories improved Wimberley’s record to 39-5 overall and 8-0 in district play.

The Lady Texans battled through a backand- forth match against Davenport, taking the opening set 25-18 before dropping the next two 1925 and 17-25. Wimberley rallied to win the fourth set 25-22 and sealed the match with a 16-14 win in the decisive fifth. Cameron Thames led the offense with 18 kills, while Skylar Herring posted a strong allaround performance with 35 assists and a team-high 21 digs. Trinity Laney added three aces, and Skylar Mears tallied five blocks at the net.

Wimberley followed up the emotional victory with a dominant performance against Fredericksburg, sweeping the Billies 25-16, 25-15, 25-11. Lilli Sandoval led the attack with 12 kills, Herring added 13 assists, and Ashton Shipman anchored the defense with 16 digs. Laney again delivered from the service line with three aces, while Drew Thames and Cameron Thames each contributed two blocks.

The Lady Texans will hit the road next week, facing Bandera on Tuesday before wrapping up the regular season Friday at Canyon Lake at 6 p.m.
