Dogs all over the Hill Country are begging their humans to follow them to the Best Little Dogwalk in Texas. Wimberley’s most popular dog-friendly event supports FreedomCanines International’s mission to train and place service dogs for people in need at no cost.
Besides a group walk, the event includes a dog costume contest, talent show, photo booth, agility area, vendors and “sniffari” fun.
“We can’t wait to see Wimberley’s creativity on display again this year — from the costumes to the camaraderie,” said Co-Founder and Executive Director Becky Kier.
The event is a major fundraiser for FreedomCanines. Money is raised through sponsorships and walk registrations that go toward the gift of a service dog. At the beginning of the event, current dogs in training demonstrate their skills.
The fun begins at 9 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wimberley, 115951 Winters Mill Parkway. Purchase tickets (also known as walk registrations) at freedomcanines.org.
