Jeff Black at Susana’s Kitchen, Oct. 16

Jeff Black comes to Wimberley for a live concert at Susanna’s Kitchen, October 16, at the Wimberley United Methodist Church.

A master songwriter and troubadour, Black will perform songs from his latest album, “A Walk In The Sun,” released January 2020, and others from his vast catalog of work.

“A Walk In The Sun” featured performances by Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Dave Roe, Jerry Roe and Kenny Vaughan.

His songs have appeared on albums by Johnny Cash, Jake Bugg, Alison Krauss, Chris Thile, Punch Brothers, Lucinda Williams Marty Stuart, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Douglas, Dierks Bently, John Oates, Blackhawk, and Joel Sonnier. His works have also been featured on the soundtracks of “The Thing Called Love,” and on the acclaimed documentary “The Appalachians” by the Public Broadcasting System, and Sundance Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize Winner, “Steel City.”

WUMB Boston listeners voted Black one of the top 100 Folk artists of the last 25 years. Doors open at 7 and the concert begins at 7:30 pm. Tamales, pizza, pie, coffee and soft drinks are available for purchase. Tickets are $25 at the door. Checks and cash accepted.

Proceeds benefit Barnabas Connection, Bright Beginnings Preschool and Wimberley Community Assistance Fund. Concert is located at Wimberley UMC, corner of RR12 and CR 1492.
