Letter of Support from M. Tormo

Letter of Support from Marguerete Tormo Woodcreek Residents, be aware that Woodcreek needs you. If you don’t usually vote or you vote only in a presidential election, please make an exception this year. Let your voices be heard on Nov. 4th, and save your city from higher future taxes. Federal money from Covid relief and some grants have come to us the past few years giving the illusion that we are flush. Grants are great, but they often have to be matched by local funds. About $800,000 in property taxes is collected from You each year. As a responsible adult, you don’t sit around and think “Look at all this money we have. Let’s think of all the things we could buy. Let’s buy a new car, a new house, increase our entertainment spending. Let’s impress our friends with bright shiny objects that will make us popular.” You don’t spend every bit of your income and go into debt so you can buy more. You know that this kind of attitude gets you into a hole, being unprepared for unexpected emergencies, being unable to pay the bills, bad credit and eventually bankruptcy. What will we do then? We have to increase the income. Well that, my dear friends, is where you come in. Your taxes will go up. If you are a renter and your landlord has increased taxes, your rent will go up. Please vote for our city on Nov. 4. Do your part to save us from higher taxes. We need Bailey for Mayor and two others for a majority on the council who will spend your money wisely. Bailey, Tormo and Lynch together will provide proven experience and education and transparent accounting to you. It’s the sure way to let your voices be heard.

Thank you so much, Marguerete Tormo Spalding Circle, Wimberley
