The Civic Club’s Style Show Market and Happy Hour last week at The Videre Estate seamlessly joined Wimberley fashionistas and nine local merchants to view Fall collections tailored to the local style. Models strode the runway in eyecatching ensembles to music curated by Tim Kiesling, General Manager of KWVH, who also served as the event’s disc jockey.

With programs in hand, 140 guests scrutinized each outfit as it was modeled, complete with accessories, footwear and hats, and marked those they considered for purchase. Merchants, with their onsite mini boutiques, made it an easy task to shop after the show. The program included a map to each business as a reference.

Participating in the style show were Wall Street Western and Wall Street Western Too; CABI; Vintage Lily Boutique; Tarry Lifestyle; My Happy Place Boutique; Libelula Free Spirit Boutique; Two P’s and Callie’s Boutique; Pink Gecko Island Footwear; and Mercer St. Chic Boutique and Art Gallery, in Dripping Springs.

“Every way you look at it, the Style Show is a win-win. It supports our business owners, our local shoppers, our cultural aesthetics, and the money raised supports the entire community,” said Wimberley Community Civic Club President, Becky Whitener Williams. “What’s especially cool about the show is that it introduced so many people to local retailers they might not have known existed — a great reminder of how rewarding it is to shop local. We can’t thank our merchants, neighbors and volunteers enough for their tremendous support and enthusiasm. Last year we were able to give $90,000 back to community non-profits and provide scholarships to graduating seniors, the most we’ve ever given.”
