Name Your Road

The Wimberley Players is hosting a screening of the documentary, “Name Your Road” by Pulp & Seed Productions.

“Name Your Road” tells the story of a unique Hill Country neighborhood where musicians and artists built a creative community beginning in the 1970s. From jazz bassists to cowboy poets, the area became a haven for collaboration, songwriting and artistry, earning its name because the first resident on each road had the privilege of naming it. At its heart, “Name Your Road” is both a musical time capsule and a living variety show of songs, characters and wisdom from the past woven into a modern story about community and creative priorities. The documentary is directed, edited and shot by Barry Alan Underhill, and produced by Underhill and Bobtom Reed. The screening will take place October 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Wimberley Playhouse, with doors opening at 6 p.m. The film, approximately 70 minutes, will be followed by a brief intermission and then 45 to 60 minutes of live music featuring Mike Bond, Patrick Green, Bobtom Reed, and Elliott Rogers, the musicians appearing in the film. Tickets are $20 and available at wimberleyplayers. org from the top ticket menu. Select Special Events. The Wimberley Players is located at 450 Old Kyle Rd.
