Several hundred supporters, festooned with colorful leis, carrying flags and wearing rainbow- themed gear, celebrated Pride month in Wimberley last Saturday.
Members of Wimberley Pride and their supporters marched in the seventh annual Pride Parade, many of them wearing t-shirts with the 2025 Pride slogan “We the People.”
The late September evening was warm and sunny and so were street-side spectators who raised cheers as the procession left the Community Center parking lot, crossed the Cypress Creek Bridge, and continued past the Square before making its way to the Oak Park Welcome Center where an afterparty with music and guest speakers led to socializing, dancing and general merriment. DJ J-Sapp! provided upbeat music and honored speaker, Jenni Rose addressed the crowd.
