Water Wise for Wimberley

To address the challenges of drought, dry wells, stressed aquifers and water curtailments in our area, Salwa Khan of the Mothering Earth podcast and program on KWVH Wimberley Valley Radio, the Watershed Association, the Cities of Woodcreek and Wimberley, as well as Hays County have partnered to create Water Wise, a community education initiative for water resiliency.

“Water conservation efforts are essential in our area, yet many people are unaware of the simple ways they can conserve water in their everyday lives,” writes Salwa Khan of Mothering Earth and the Water Wise organizer. “The realities are urgent, but they are also an invitation. How can we cultivate abundance in the drought?”

The Water Wise workshop series will begin October 25 at the Wimberley Village Library. The series will run through several months into 2026, offering information, education and practical steps that community members in Wimberley and Woodcreek can take to conserve water.
