OPINION

Letter of Support from Stephanie Deen

During most of the nineteen years I have owned property and lived in Woodcreek, the city council and mayor have been virtually invisible to me because their operations were performed seamlessly, competently, appropriately and beneficially. I’m not saying perfectly, because there are always issues that can be addressed, but the city was functioning and thriving.

Now, we are facing an election that will replace two council members and the mayor. At this point, I have had experience with both groups who are running and can most definitely throw my support behind Linnea Bailey for Mayor, José Tormo for City Council, and Ryan Lynch for City Council.

Linnea, a current city council member, with her background in road construction and accounting, is the perfect choice to finally get the city’s financial reporting back up to standard and address road maintenance as well. She has a core of integrity that will serve the city well in all areas. José, who is well-educated and professionally

Letter of Support from Erwin

I am writing this letter to show my support for Debra Hines for Mayor of Woodcreek and Krista Richardson for Woodcreek City Council. My husband Josh and I, and our two children have lived in Brookmeadow of Woodcreek for almost 10 years. We were originally drawn to the unique character and natural beauty of our experienced, has proven he will shine in drainage resolution and catastrophic preparedness. Ryan is also committed and will be a representative of the people of Woodcreek rather than a leader who only wants things done their way. He will find out how you want your tax dollars spent and implement your preferences.

All three want to actually serve our community, not just direct the expenditures and the programs to their own will. They understand what it means to “spend within our means.”

So, debt will be kept to a minimum which then will have a direct effect on our taxes. They know to concentrate on important -- rather than frivolous -- expenditures. They understand that every city council decision must be made with protective concern for citizen’s property values.

Without hesitation, my votes and my endorsements in this year’s Woodcreek election go to Linnea Bailey, José Tormo, and Ryan Lynch.

Stephanie Deen Woodcreek neighborhood. We have witnessed that since Hines and Richardson have been on the council the appeal of our neighborhood has not only been preserved but enhanced. Hines and Richardson, through their hard work on council implemented many boards, such as the tree board to ensure that our beautiful trees in our neighborhood remain strong and healthy. Letter of Support from Schneider

We have lived here in the Wimberley Valley for 24 years and have seen many changes. Some for the good and a few you scratch your head over. In past 11 years we have resided in Woodcreek. Much to my surprise Woodcreek has become a desirable place to live.

I give much of the credit to Jeff Rasco, Mayor, Debra Hines, Senior Council person and Krista Richardson, Council Person for positive changes. These include Creekside Park, a children’s park / playground, Triangle Park complete with a new gazebo for adult gatherings, yoga, discussion and book reviews etc. The Agusta Park has been expanded adding adult games such as Corn Hole, a Ping Pong table and a Rain Garden.

They have also addressed the muchneeded pavement of the streets throughout the city. The latest improvement on Deerfield Drive included concrete water drainage, side support edges and new black top making the street slightly wider.

The city council has have also fought to ensure our unique dark sky community status remains intact. Moreover, Hines and Richardson finally gave us aesthetic and functioning roads, and a wonderful playground where family memories have been created.

I feel strongly that Hines and Richardson will continue to maintain what we love so much about where we call home, as proved by their excellent track record consistent communication regarding events and council meetings if you sign up for them. We know what is going on in our city and can voice our concerns.

The city recently added speed cushions which have resulted in slower traffic. The best part of that is it has encouraged people to take walks because they feel safer on the streets. Residents also seem to be taking greater pride in their community and are improving their homes.

I would like to see these positive actions continue. Jeff Rasco is retiring. It is important for our community to continue on the road we have been following. The person who has been very instrumental in creating or assisting in the development of many of these programs is Debra Hines, who has been on the city council for 4 years. She is now running for Mayor of Woodcreek and is my choice candidate. She will be an excellent mayor. Please join me in voting for Debra Hines.

Thank you, Mike Schneider

on council. Lastly, I believe that Hines and Richardson have the hearts of true public servants, as they have dedicated their valuable time and truly listened to their constituency. These candidates will ensure that our local government continues to run transparently, fairly, and efficiently.

Thank you for your Consideration, Amanda Erwin Woodcreek

Letter of Support from Jones

I have known Debra for several years now. Multiple aspects of her personality come across rather strong. They are qualities that make her an exceptional candidate for Mayor of Woodcreek. She is definitely outspoken. Her ability to speak clearly regarding issues is notable. I have noticed her willingness to step into areas and speak out vocally to clearly communicate her positions. She also listens to people well, a quality sorely needed in community governance. She also does not hesitate speaking her mind and voicing her opinions. I have noticed her

I love this place, and I am so happy about what our little community has accomplished by: 1) fixing our infrastructure; 2) upgrading our parks; 3) working to slow down traffic; 4) protecting our Valley against big Californiastyle development; 5) becoming an internationally recognized Dark Sky Community; and 6)
