Wimberley Pride holds 7th annual march, September 20

Wimberley citizens gathered at the September 4 city council meeting to recognize September 2025 as Pride Month by Mayor Jim Chiles. Preparations are underway for the seventh Annual Pride March on September 20.

Organized by the nonprofit Wimberley Pride, the first march took place in 2019. More than 900 LGBTQ+ people and allies took part.

Champions of diversity can show their support for the event by purchasing “We the People” 2025 Pride t-shirts at The Budaful Hiker, 13911 RR12, next to Monster Treats.

The march will begin at 6 p.m. from the Wimberley Community Center, 14068 RR12, over the Cypress Creek bridge and end at Oak Park Welcome Center, 109 Oak Dr.

Ranch Road 12 will be closed until the end of the march at approximately 6:30 p.m. Roads will be closed at the intersections of RR12 and River Rd., as well as Old Kyle Rd. and RR12. The closure of RR12 at those intersections is expected to end at 5:55 p.m. Oak Park Dr. will be closed from 6 to 8 p.m. as marchers celebrate at Oak Park and Welcome Center with music, guest speakers and festivities until 8 p.m.

Sponsorships for the march are still available via email at wimberleypride@ outlook.com.

More information is available at WimberleyPride. org.

Parking is suggested at the Community Center or at Oak Park Welcome Center.
