The American Association of Retired Persons Foundation has provided Wimberley residents free tax assistance and return preparation services for many years through its Tax-Aide program.
Wimberley is looking to provide this free service again in 2026, for the tax year 2025, but is in need of a couple more tax return preparation volunteers. Some tax knowledge is helpful but not required. The Foundation, in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service, provides all training and certification.
Training and return preparation take place online using a computer provided by Tax-Aide. Other Tax-Aide volunteer positions are available that require much less training and no computer or internet.
