Closeness: a closer look at portraits at ARTSPACE

Wimberley’s projectART begins their Fall gallery schedule with “Closeness,” an exhibit of photographs showcasing portraits by artists within a 25-mile radius of Wimberley. Works by George Krause, Dennis Darling, Eric Morales, April Rapier, Winifred Simon, Rodney Bursiel, Robb Kendrick, Diana Scheunemann, Martha Gibson, and Jim McJunkin will be included in the exhibit.

A contemplative exhibit, “Closeness” is designed to foster meaningful moments of reflection and connection. By choosing to focus on portraits, ARTSPACE is hoping to start a conversation that searchesforcommonalities among people instead of focusing on differences, hoping to discover things that bring people closer together instead of dividing them apart.

ARTSPACE will host an opening reception for Closeness on September 19, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In conjunction with the exhibit, ARTSPACE will also host an Artist Talk with George Krause on October 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. and Photography Workshop with Eric Morales on October 25, from 1 to 4 p.m.

“Closeness” will be on view at ARTSPACE in Wimberley from September 19 to November2. projectART is located at 111 River Rd, Suite 100 in Wimberley.
