The No. 8th ranked Texans continued their dominant winning streak, sweeping both the Blanco Panthers and the Austin Bowie Bulldogs.
Wimberley improves their overall record to 27-5, extending their winning streak to 12 games and having won 27 straight sets.
The Texans opened the week back on the road, making the trip up FM 2325 to take on the rival Blanco Panthers.
It was a dominant win for Wimberley who defeated Blanco 3-0 [2511, 25-18, 25-15]. Freshman Trinity Laney led the team in kills with 13 followed by senior Lilli Sandoval with nine. Senior Mariah McCoy was third in kills with seven.
Senior Carson Peoples led the team in assits with 23 followed by senior Skylar Herring with 18. Defensively, Sandoval led the team in digs with 18 followed by Laney with 15. Senior Ashton Shipman was third in digs with eight. Junior Jillian Abel led the team in blocks with two.
On Friday, Wimberley made the trip into Austin to take the Bowie Bulldogs who reside in Class 6A.
The Texans swept the Bulldogs 3-0 [25-19, 25-14, 25-14].
Wimberley returns back to Texan Gym after their long road trip for two home games this week.
The Texans will host the Poth Pirates 6 p.m. Tuesday night before hosting the rival Cuero Gobblers 6 p.m Friday night. Poth enters the game with a 14-11 overall record while Cuero enters their game with a 16-13 overall record.
