Is It Just Me?

I am proud to say that throughout my life, I have always answered this question correctly. I have never forgotten my name, until recently. Suddenly that question changed from “What’s your name?” to “What’s your user name?”
User Names change from website to website, depending on their stipulations. It could be they had to be eight characters or even 12 characters long. I got pretty good at choosing my user name until one website said, “Someone else has that name, choose something else.” Well, after too many user names to remember, I started writing them down.
But websites weren’t done stumping me. Some wanted a password of 10 characters including a capital letter, number and symbol.
Now I had to know my user name and password for every website, which included everything from fast food restaurants to medical records. Oh, and I had to change my password regularly. My list had so many passwords crossed out that I couldn’t read it anymore. And, if I was out and wanted to access a discount at a favorite store, I could not do that because I couldn’t remember which user name I had, forget the password.
But being nice, they would text me a code to put on the website to be able to change my user name or password. Sometimes when I went to look at my text, I could not get back to the original website.
If I got my user name and password right, they followed that with a “2 step verification” to make sure I was who I said I was. Why that was needed on the only phone I used was probably due to a bored person in their IT department.
Now I had to go to a specific app and type in “yes.” People in the store were walking around me in disgust since I never moved. I wanted my discount. But I never found that app.
How can I request a paper coupon?
