Is It Just Me?

I believe we all have things that we do regularly, especially at night, before we go to bed. It could be putting a glass of water on the night stand, reading a book or watching You-Tube. I do all three.
What I have not figured out is why I watch a specific type of show on YouTube. I don’t cook, yet I can lie in bed watching one 30-minute cooking show after another, nearly all of them in a foreign language. I mute them and can’t read the subtitles either, since they are in that same foreign language. Even if I wanted to make a recipe, which I know I never will, I would not remember the ingredients or their amounts, especially since they’re given in grams, however that translates to ounces.
I can watch these cooking shows for hours and still never get motivated to cook. The interesting thing is that I never watch them during the day. Maybe that is because I would feel guilty for not trying some of the recipes. Perhaps since I can’t cook in bed, I free myself from experiencing guilt.
What is my brain trying to tell me? Should I bring a notebook to bed so I can write down the recipes? Should I learn to cook? Or should I start learning the languages of those YouTubers?
I’ve read that you can learn things while you sleep if you wear earphones to bed. Should I give it a shot?
On reflection, I think figuring out how to tell my brain it’s time to sleep, is the way to go. We’ll deal with languages and recipes in the morning.
