I have a problem with getting spots or stains on my clothes. Sometimes it’s food, grease, ink, outdoor gunk or spots that mysteriously appear.
I have a whole shelf of various stain removers. I have natural products, heavy duty products and spot removing sprays that are supposed to be miracle potions. I’ve tried them all, but still the stains remain.
The worst thing is when you think the stains are gone and you put on your favorite shirt. One look in the mirror and you realize you can’t wear it in public because you don’t have a scarf long enough to cover the stains. I’ve had to make some of my favorite clothes into rags.
I will admit to sometimes wearing my Tshirt backwards, so the stain is not facing the person I am with. Unfortunately, sometimes it looks like I backed into a basket of blueberries, but that’s another story.
So, I was lamenting about my stain problem with some friends and one woman told me she has read a book called LaundryLove. It gave her all of the information she needed to have stain-free clothes. It is hard to believe that there is a whole book written about stains, and its even harder to believe that someone read it from cover to cover. I wonder if you would be thrown out of a book club if it was your turn to choose a book ad this is the one you chose?
Now, it’s not that I wouldn’t read this book, but I would like a quick summary of the stain removing tips. My friend enthusiastically said that a readily available dishwashing soap was the answer to most stains. I would need to read the book to get the rest of the tips. I am not sure I have enough of that dishwashing soap for all of my stains, but I’m willing to take my favorite shirt out of the rag bag and give it a try. Feel free to compliment me on my stain free clothes the next time you see me. But don’t look at my back.
