My question this week is really in two parts.
1. Where does dust come from?
2. And is there any way to encourage it to go somewhere else besides the interior of my house?
I could probably Google these questions or ask Chat GPT for help, but I would rather think for myself. I don’t want my brain to get rusty or believe it’s not needed any more. So, I make it work hard for its comfy place in my head.
But, back to the dust question. When I look around my house, I don’t see dust particles floating in the air. I am happier not seeing them, even if they are there. Unfortunately, dust is neither “out of sight or out of mind.”
I dust periodically, especially when I see a table or lamp shade with a thin layer of dust settling in. I use an air purifier in my living room, which I believe purifies the dust, but doesn’t seem to get rid of it. I dust and vacuum in my bedroom thoroughly and close the door tightly, but the dust still manages to get in. And yes, I do use furnace filters, but probably not the most high efficiency ones. I would rather spend that extra money on necessities like gas, internet and cookies. Fresh baked cookies.
Anyway, I am trying to figure out how to get the dust to live outside. I might try a few fans blowing from one side of a room to an open window. I would need quite a few fans and quite a few open windows to do that, and then hope that the dust isn’t replaced by mosquitos. But what’s a few mosquito bites when you hopefully have a dust-less house? So far, just trying this in one room doesn’t seem to be making a difference. In fact, I think there is now more dust in my house.
I wonder if anyone is doing research on this? I would gladly let them use my house as part of their project, as long as they dusted when they were done.
