Despite heavy clouds and impending rain, Wimberley’s Independence Day parade celebrated Uncle Sam’s birthday in red, white and blue style. Spectators, decked out in their July 4 finest, cheered as more than 70 parade entries made their way from Lions Field to the downtown area, along RR12.

Guided by a retro theme, this year’s parade included Grand Marshals, a horse painted red, white and blue and a pair of glassblowers who inflated molten glass through a blow- pipe as they marched.
