Nine young artists who participated in projectArt’s “Art As Activism” class last Spring have raised $1,860 for Wimberley Fig Tree, an area nonprofit that helps feed local children.
The nine middle schoolers created totebags that were sold at The Leaning Pear restaurant. All 90 of their bags sold at the restaurant, and some customers were moved to donate more to the Wimberley Fig Tree cause. Last week the student presented a check to Fig Tree representatives in front of The Leaning Pear.
