The Wimberley Valley Visitor Center announced Chris Dailey as their 2024 Volunteer of the Year. Dailey worked at the Johnson Space Center as a scientist and payload engineer. After 34 years in the space industry and earning a physical therapist assistant license, she and her husband, Mike Fohey, retired to the Wimberley area.
Dailey began volunteering at the visitor center in 2017. She said she “loves working with the other interesting and knowledgeable volunteers and has acquired a tremendous amount of information about Wimberley, especially its activities, businesses and culture.”
Dailey, who stays on top of local current events, said she “enjoys sharing how wonderful Wimberley is with the visitors and residents who call and come into the center.”
Karen Poe, who is President of the Wimberley Valley Visitor Center said, “We are proud to honor Chris as our Volunteer of the Year. She is always ready to help with any project we have. Her dedication, knowledge and love of Wimberley are qualities we value in our volunteers. The Wimberley Valley Visitor Center is an important face of Wimberley and we appreciate all of our volunteers who help make it a friendly place to visit.”
Chris will be riding in the Wimberley Fourth of July parade. Be sure to give her an extra wave and thank her for her volunteer service.
