In their regular meeting on June 5, the Wimberley City Council voted to team with Hays County and the City of Woodcreek to collaborate on water and wastewater planning efforts in the area.
The interlocal agreement allows both cities and the county to work toward infrastructure improvements by sharing resources and services.
Hays County Precinct Three Commissioner, the Mayors of Wimberley and Woodcreek, and a council member from each city will collaborate with community leaders and advisory partners.
Advisory partners can include water supply companies, river authorities, groundwater conservation districts and other organizations actively engaged in protecting water resources or providing water and wastewater services to the area.
The City of Wimberley, the City of Woodcreek and Hays County have a history of working together on important issues and currently participate in the management of the Blanco Cypress Creek Watershed Protection Plan.
In other actions, the City Council voted to approve the appointment of 16 citizens to five city boards and commissions.
Appointed to the Board of Adjustments were JoKathryn Quinn, Pam Tise and Tim Dodson. Four appointees were approved to serve on the Ethics Review Commission: Arthur Valentine, John Dunn, Mary Espinoza and Nancy Bowman.
Anthony Deringer, Rachel Buchanan and Amy Crowell were appointed to the Parks and Recreation Board. Appointed to the Planning and Zoning Board were Matt Joyce, Vance McCracken and Mac McCullough.
