Lauren Cook, an Ayurvedic Practitioner and full-spectrum doula, will introduce Abhyanga massage during a presentation of the May 21 meeting of the Hill Country Unit of the Herb Society of America.
Abhyanga massage uses herbal oils to bring about cellular rejuvenation and lymphatic movement. Cook will discuss some typical Ayurvedic oil formulas and will bring an assortment to teach attendees how to perform the massage on themselves.
Visitors are welcome to attend the gathering in the meeting space of Emily Ann Theater and Gardens, 1101 FM-2325, Wimberley.
Herbal treats and social time begin at 9:30 a.m. and the program starts at 10:00 a.m.
Each second Wednesday of the month, The Hill Country Unit features guest speakers, educational programs, or handson activities to promote the use of herbs for health, cooking or home care.
