Civic Club invests $90,000 in the Wimberley community

During their meeting last week, the Wimberley Community Civic Club awarded 31 grants to area nonprofits, totaling $50,000. Civic Club members work together each year to raise funds for grants and scholarships by hosting special events throughout the year.

The 2025 recipients were: Amigos de Jesús Wimberley The Barnabas Connection Camp CommUnity Central Texas Theatre Academy Freedom Canines International Friends of the Wimberley Village Library Hays Caldwell Women’s Center Hays County Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program Hill Country Community Band Hill Country Women’s Health Collective KWVH Wimberley Valley Radio Station Meals on Wheels Mini Equine 2U PAWS Wimberley TNR Program Prevent A Litter of Central Texas ProjectArt Wimberley Schoolyard Dogs Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Wimberley Starlight Symphony Orchestra Wimberley Adoption Group and Rescue WimberleyArts.org Wimberley Band Boosters Wimberley Community Chorus Wimberley Crisis Bread Basket Wimberley EMS Wimberley Institute of Cultures The Wimberley Players, Inc.

Wimberley Valley Art League Wimberley Valley Big Band Wimberley Valley Habitat for Humanity In addition to the $50,000 awarded to area nonprofits in the form of grants, the Civic Club gave 14 graduating Wimberley High School Seniors scholarships amounting to $40,000. The Civic Club’s investment in the Wimberley commu- nity this year totaled $90,000, the most ever awarded.

During the meeting, new officers were sworn in for the 2025-26 year. Plans are already underway for two of the group’s major community endeavors, Spring Events and the Home Tour.

To support the work of the Civic Club, attend events, become a member, donate an item to the Spring Online Auction or become a Community partner. Membership is a reasonable $35 per year and meetings include updates on Civic Club business, guest speakers from the community, birthday acknowledgements and door prizes.
