Wimberley brought home another gold glove trophy this past weekend, sweeping the Pleasanton Eagles in a two-game series in the Area round of the playoffs.
The Texans won their 20th game of the season and won their first Area championship since 2018.
In Game 1 of the series on Thursday, the Texans and the Eagles were locked in a scoreless draw through the first four innings. After being held scoreless, Wimberley found the offense they needed in the top of the fifth.
Gentry McGinnis reached base on a Pleasanton fielding error to reach second. Following two consecutive strikeouts, Bryson Anderson kept the atbat alive with an RBI single in right field and scored the first Texan run of the game.
