Voters chose to fund all four proposals of the $35M Wimberley Independent School District school bond in last week’s May 3 election. The first proposition, Prop A, asked for $109.99M for general growth, safety and the rehabilitation of facilities. Proposition B asked for $6.05M for instructional technology, and Proposition C asked $5.73M for improvements to the Texan stadium. Finally, Proposition D asked for and received $13.23M for a shaded multipurpose activity center.
In a letter released by WISD Superintendent Greg Bonewald, he thanked the community for their “tremendous support in approving the four bond propositions.”
“Your support,” he wrote, “. . . of these propositions allows for investment in addressing a multitude of needs, including enhancing safety and security, access to updated technology to prepare students for the future workforce, updating aging facility infrastructure, and the creation of new learning spaces to address enrollment growth.”
The district now moves to the planning and implementation phases of the approved projects. Project updates will be available at wimberleyisd.net/ bond2025.
