Today’s Americana artists owe a debt of gratitude to the stalwarts of what the media of the day called “Progressive Country.”
The Lost Austin Band will bring the music of classic Texas songwriters like Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Michael Martin Murphey, Rusty Wier, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Willis Alan Ramsey, and B.W. Stevenson to a performance at Susanna’s Kitchen, May 15.
All members of the Texas Music Legends Hall of Fame, Bill Browder, Dave Moerbe, Patterson Barrett, Ernie Gammage and Craig D. Hillis, as the Lost Austin Band, will perform the songs that created a transformative era in Texas’s musical history.
Texas Music documentarian, Austin Sayre, wrote about a Lost Austin Band performance, “If you want to know why Austin is so special and hear the music responsible for creating the very culture that made Austin “Austin,” then get yourself to one of their shows. The show was electric, and the place was packed listening to the guys play iconic Texas songs and nailing it with their originals. It doesn’t get any better than the Lost Austin Band.”
The Lost Austin Band performance is part of Susanna’s Kitchen Coffeehouse Concert Series at the Wimberley United Methodist Church located at the corner of RR12 and CR1492. Tickets are $25. Cash or check only. Doors open at 7 and the concert begins at 7:30 pm. Tamales, pizza, pie coffee and soft drinks are available for purchase.
