Despite competing with Easter weekend, GumboFest drew an enthusiastic crowd to Cypress Falls. The Jean-Pierre and the Zydeco Angels band won the acclaim of guests who requested they return next year.
Six teams competed for the title of Best Gumbo.
1st place - Sonnier 7, Ben Sonnier, head cook, won a $500.00 cash prize.
2nd place - Mr. Ron’s Rockin’ Gumbo, Ron Rawl, head cook.
3rd place - Reynolds Family, Chris Reynolds, head cook.
People’s Choice - Mr. Ron’s Rockin’ Gumbo, Ron Rawl, head cook.

Roux on the River, Darcy Bentley, head cook. She has been at every cookoff in the seven years WCCA has been the organizer.
The silent auction raised more than $5,600 from donations provided by the business community, including the newest members, Bamboo Garden and Wimberley Mini Golf.
